The HSQ locality is a feast of things to see and experience.
Dynamic Dublin 8.
The neighbourhoods around HSQ are traditionally working-class areas, known for their community spirit and soft charm. Nowadays, this is where that famous Dublin character and wit meets modern sophistication. On foot from HSQ you can explore trendy eateries and bars, chic clothing boutiques, the treasures of the Liberty Market and more. Follow a yoga class with a latte at a the café. Life is good here.
Steeped in
culture and story.
HSQ is located at the centre of a culturally rich district, with no less than five museums and art galleries within walking distance. These include the ancient and elegant Dublin Castle, and Kilmainham Gaol, whose history is inseparable from the story of rebellion in Ireland. The Irish Jewish Museum documents a small but rich culture and experience while Dublinia brings the story of the Viking city to life.
Closest of all to HSQ is IMMA, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, hosting Irish and international exhibitions and home to an important permanent collection. But more than that, IMMA is an elegant, beautifully proportioned building, set in generous grounds. Enjoy the café. Enjoy the calm. IMMA will be a memorable part of your HSQ experience, while feeling like a place apart.
The Phoenix Park
HSQ sits just south of the river. On the northern side is the Phoenix Park, the largest park in any European city.
The park dates back to the 17th century and is rich in history, architecture and biodiversity. Enjoy the playground, jog or segway through the park and savour the fresh, clean air and vast open space.
A herd of wild deer has lived here for hundreds of years, and it is also home of Áras an Uachtaráin, the President’s residence, as well as the world-class zoo.

Heuston Station, one of Ireland’s main rail hubs, is just a stroll away. From there you can hop on the Luas, Dublin’s tram service, and be in the City Centre within minutes. Or If you fancy a change of scene you can catch a train heading West or South to the many charming towns and cities outside of Dublin.
HSQ is within walking distance to numerous quality bus corridors serving the entire city, including Dublin Airport which is 12km away. If you're driving, it’s just 6km to Junction 9 of the M50, the motorway which encircles the city and gives easy access to Dublin’s suburban towns and villages, the airport and Dublin Port. And of course, Dublin is one of the most walkable cities in the world. A leisurely 40 minutes stroll takes you to Dublin’s famed Trinity College, in the heart of the living city.
